Pre-Trial Program

The Pre-trial Program consists of completing Mental Health and Substance Abuse Assessments within 72 hours of an individual being incarcerated on misdemeanor and/or lower level felonies.  This is a voluntary program for individuals. The purpose of the assessments are to determine their treatment needs, connect them to services upon release and to determine if there is a substantial risk of flight or danger to themselves, to others, or to the public.

We utilize the Indiana Risk Assessment System: Pretrial Assessment Tool (IRAS-PAT), Correctional Mental Health Screen for Men (CMHS-M), Correctional Mental Health Screen for Women (CMHS-W), and the TCU Drug Screen 5 Plus Opioid Supplement. We provide this information along with a recommendation to the court to utilize in deciding bond, release conditions, etc.
