Release/Drop-Off Hours
Monday through Friday 08:00am to 04:30pm
After "normal business hours" releases and drop-offs are available as well for a fee of $50. Please call the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department at 765-423-9321 and request to speak to the on-call Deputy Coroner to arrange this type of pick-up or drop-off.
TCCOR Decedent Release Policy
The funeral home that is providing arrangements for the decedent must have a signed release from the legal next of kin prior to pick-up at our facility.
Due to safety reasons, we kindly ask that you bring sufficient staff in order to safely move or handle the decedent and appropriate personal protective equipment.
Parking for releases or drop-offs is available near the white trailer and flag pole. All releases or drop-offs will be processed through the Northern-most door on the West side of the building that says "NOT A PUBLIC ENTRANCE".
Please contact the our office prior to arriving and when you have arrived at the door so we can efficiently assist you.
Cremation Authorizations
Cremation authorizations are available to funeral homes at no cost. Please contact our office by phone to request one.
We are not able to authorize cremation for decedents whos death is not investigated by our office. Please contact the Tippecanoe County Health Department at 765-423-9221 for additional information.
