Conservation Field Day

Conservation Field Day is designed for Tippecanoe County 4th graders. Conservation Field Day allows students to step out of the indoor classroom and into the outdoor environment at Martell Forest in West Lafayette.

Approximately 300 fourth grade students from Tippecanoe County will experience this one-day event each spring. For this hands-on field day, students are divided into groups and rotated through learning stations conducted by experts. Examples of these sessions include water quality testing, watersheds, macro-invertebrates, soils, biodiversity, forestry, native species, and more! Many of the students in this program will also participate in the Wonders on the Wabash when they reach 6th grade.
