Services & Education Offered by Tippecanoe County Court Services

Orientation - inital enrollment and informational meeting to educate clients about the various steps and activities involved in receiving services and completing Court Servicesprograms. All clients must attend the orinentation.

Community Service Management and Reporting - Community Service assistance, verification, and reporting services are provided bycase managers. Clients are required to attend the Orientation meeting and an Exit Interview to complete Community Service through Court Services.

Evaluation - holistic evaluation of clients to collaboratively work together in setting up a plan of action for client success.(Individual meeting lasting 45 minutes to an hour)

Case Management - support system for the client to achieve success in their individual plan of action. (Individual Case Manager assigned to each Court Services client. Meetings by appointment)

Exit Interview - All clients from all courts MUST have an exit interview. Bring in proofof completion papers to the case manager assigned to you. If you have completed, your completion will be prepared for the appropriate court. (Individual meeting lasting 15 minutes with proper documentation provided by client.)

Examples of Education Providedby Tippecanoe County Court Services

  • Alcohol/Drug Education Classes - Classes are generally for first time offenders, low BAC, no pattern. Basicalcohol and drug education is taught (cause and effects)
  • Risk Reduction Classes - Classes are generally for people who are at risk of alcoholism due to one or more factors: patern of drinking, previous legal issues, work/school problems related to usage and/or a high BAC. This class teaches the basic alcohol education iwth each client developing his/her own plan on how to make low risk drinking choices, one of which is abstinence.M
  • Marijuana Classes - Classes are generally for chronic marijuana users.
  • Theft Talk Classes - Classes are aimed at clients with a theft charge. This is a cognitive-behavioral approach to problem solving.
