The Area Plan Commission of Tippecanoe County is also the Metropolitan Planning Organization for Lafayette, West Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Battle Ground, Dayton and Clarks Hill. The APC develops the 20-year Transportation Plan (a listing of all the transportation projects planned for the next 20 years) and a five year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP, a listing of all transportation projects planned and funded for the next four years). We are further charged with the responsibility for planning activities which promote an efficient and effective intermodal transportation system. These planning topics include, but are not limited to, transit, rail, highways, air quality, livable communities, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
